Bennie

Bennie was commissioned as a memorial portrait by Caitlyn as a birthday present for her mother.

Gosh he was cute! Such a little fluff ball! Quite a challenging portrait in a way, light ones are funny, they seem to be super easy or super hard! Because he was so fluffy and white, the fur had to be more implied than drawn in some spots which can be quite tricky - to try and get that soft, fluffy look and feel. I did a darker background in the end, as though I like light backgrounds, a darker background will highlight the lighter shades instead of the darker shades. A great portrait to do, Caitlyn and her mother loved it, which was fabulous. An extract from her email can be read below :)
